Charity and I
So I've been thinking a lot recently about giving back to those that are in need.
My parents always raised me to try and help those less fortunate and donate to those that need things more than I do. I'm quite lucky in that respect.
I try and spare money where I can and I try to participate in fundraising events. The biggest I suppose is Children in need. My work becomes some of the phone lines that takes pledges, I did it last year and I intend to do it this year.
I am however about to embark on a whole new challenge in order to raise money for Macmillian.
I am going to be running a 10 Kilometre obstacle course called the 'Suffering' in March 2016. Now I have never participated in a race like this before but when Luke mentioned it, I thought that it would be a worthwhile challenge.
If you read the blog, then you will know that I recently got back into running, but there is a massive journey ahead. I also need to worth on my upper body strength as there is a lot of pulling involved.
(you can find more about it here)
So I hope to raise a lot of money as Macmillan is a charity that has helped out some of my family members when they have need it. One being very close to home.
I hope that my struggles and what not, may help to motivate others into doing events.
I would also like to give a shout out to my partner Luke.
He recently undertook two challenges, firstly he pulled an Eddie Stobart Truck as part of a team. I was lucky enough to be able to get in on camera. The video is on the blog's youtube channel and you can find it below
He also if that wasn't crazy enough, did the three peaks challenge less than a week later. The challenge is to climb Snowdon, Ben neves and Scarfield Pike in 24 hours. He looked terrible after but he it, but I am incredibly proud of him and his determination to succeed is inspiring. I'm hoping that a little rubs off on to me as we take on this new challenge together!
Let me know what you are up to!
