UPDATED What I've Learned from Moving
I am sitting here in my new little Sofa and Blanket nest in my new home.
I have two lovely little scented candles burning away gently and the back door ajar (a nice spring breeze blowing in the living room).
Had you told me of this image eight weeks ago, I would have said you were lying. We had no plans to move out of out flat, that we have called home for the last three years.
Sadly for us, our first home was a miserable one.... not in terms of our relationship but in terms of the fact that we felt trapped and that the amount of times that something was broken in the flat. Despite the fact that the rent seemed reasonable, it felt like all we were doing was paying someone else's mortgage and getting basically nothing in return.
I don't want this post to be a negative one, but trust me when I say in the three years we lived there, only one month did we have a fully working flat. The only thing that I will miss is the memories. I like to think that I completely changed as a person while living there.... I grew up, changed a job I hated, got a decent car and most importantly, I realised that I truly loved my boyfriend more than anything. We watched our fluffy ones grow into little Panthers (or so they think) and I've kept it going at Uni.
After all they say that your first home together tests you as a couple.
My only advise that I can give after renting from a letting agency is that you need a) a lot of determination to get your point across b) remember that you are their customer as well as the Landlord and c) be ready to fight your corner!
Fast forward to today... We now live in a lovely Victorian House, we have a garden (for the Cats to explore) , we live on a lovely street. There is plenty of light and space. Most importantly, our Landlord is great and she also loves this house so anything that needs doing, she is more than happy to sort it.
I can honestly say that in the week of living here, I am happier than I have been in three years.
I am currently uploading a Room Tour / 50 things in my room Vlog ( I will update the post when the video is up). For now you can enjoy part one :
Here is part two
