Reusing Items around the home

So I am one of those people that loves to recycle items when ever I can. It saves money and it helps the environment, even if it is in a small way.

Storage at the moment is paramount in my little flat, I'm not one of these that likes clutter :/

My first example is my Jar in the bathroom. This used to be a biscuit jar but now it is a container for my lovely bath bombs / bubble bars. The best part is that it is completely watertight, which is something that the previous bag they were in, failed at.

It adds a cheeky bit of colour to the bathroom as well .

Next is my pink sparkly bath. I got this as a holder for a Valentine's day gift set. It is big enough to hold my shampoo, conditioner and deep conditioner and sponge. Again it adds a bit of colour. I am one of those people that won't throw things like this away because I know that I can reuse it. Not in a hoarder way. If the item is useless, then its gone ;)

Next, contiuning the theme of the jar above is my recylced Yankee Candle Jar. I turned the remaining candle that was in it to wax burners, it is a really easy process and the steps can be found here. Just make sure that you don't burn yourself!

When you do this to the candle, it seems to bring back the original smell. I do this to all my Christmas candles so they are ready for the next year. I have Spiced apple, mulled wine and snowflake cookie ready to go ;)

It will save you money in the long run ;)

It adds a cheeky bit of colour to the living room also

Lastly is my skin care bag. I got this bag, again as part of a gift set. Its just big enough to fit everything in and its waterproof.

So those were a few examples, I look for every opportunity for a little DIY so I'm sure that this won't be the only post ;)

Let me know if you are recycling / up cycling

I was thinking of doing a post similar to this, haha! I find a lot of people forget that reusing certain items is even more effective than recycling, so little reminders such as this of the usefulness of glass jars or whathaveyou are great! Also, your bathroom must look so sweet with the jar of bath products and the little bathtub of shampoos!

Nice ideas. It's great to see some examples of how recycling can save people money. I love how up cycling has become a trend now. My University even turned a bath into a sofa for it's bar, which is cool.

Thanks everybody!

The items have definitely brightened my bathroom up Erin - as its all white

I'm all about saving at the moment as I am at University still, the glass Jar idea came to me as I honestly had no idea what to do with it at first. I was staring at the melts and thought, wait I need somewhere to sort these.

My little bath is racking up fans :)
